Just a few days before the West End Farmers Market opens its 2015 season. We’re planning a wonderful year and look forward to seeing you. Your favorite farmers, specialty foods and artisans will be here and there will be a few new faces too. Join us on opening day- it will be great fun.

Bring on the Dragon! The Redwood Empire Chinese Association’s Dragon Dance will help us celebrate our 2015 season. The Dragon Dance is an important item of the Chinese Culture and tradition. It symbolizes the bringing of good luck and prosperity in the year to come. The Redwood Empire Chinese Association, which serves more than 200 families in Sonoma County, offers scholarship programs, language classes and Tai Chi lessons, along with many other cultural offerings. Dance with the Dragon on our opening Day- March 15th, Sunday 9:30 to 10 a.m.

The Awesome Pretzel Cart -The West End Farmers Market welcomes Chop’s Teen Club and The Awesome Pretzel Cart. It’s so much more than pretzels! Chop’s Teen Club members earn a basic food handlers certificate and gain valuable work experience by taking the pretzel cart out to the West End Farmers Market. It’s all part of Chop’s “Work Ready” class which is 10 weeks of skill building in class time which includes cash handling, customer service, basic food handlers certificate, resumes etc. The other portion of the program is actually running the cart at the West End Farmers Market. Qualified participants will earn a professional portfolio along with the Sonoma County Office of Education’s Work Ready Certificate. Students are thrilled to know that upon completion of the program they will earn a $200 pay check. For more information, call Chop’s Teen Club at 707-284-2467.
